How do I apply?

Click Apply Now, register for a student account, and complete the application. A non-refundable $15 application fee applies.

Are your programs accredited?

Accreditation and state approval are different. Our CNA program is approved by the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care (OLTC), the state agency responsible for approving CNA training programs in Arkansas.

Our Phlebotomy Technician and EKG Technician programs are career training programs designed to prepare students for employment. Graduates may be eligible to sit for certification exams through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) after completing the program and meeting NHA eligibility requirements. NHA is a certification organization, not an accrediting body.

What education is required for Phlebotomy or EKG?

Students must provide proof of a GED or high school diploma on the first day of class.

What education is required for CNA?

CNA students may enroll without a GED or high school diploma. Applicants must read, write, speak, and understand English at no less than a 10th-grade level.

What health clearances are required?

CNA, EKG, and Phlebotomy students must submit recent negative TB skin test or chest x-ray results (within the past year) and proof of a flu shot (October–April) before clinical activities begin.

Are background checks and drug screens required?

All CNA, EKG, and Phlebotomy students must complete a criminal background check. EKG and Phlebotomy students must also complete a 9-panel drug screen. Testing may be completed through First Choice Drug Testing and Occupational Health Services Inc., 6400 Scott Hamilton Dr, Little Rock, AR 72209. Sponsored students receive required forms when picking up books; non-sponsored students are responsible for their own fees.

What offenses affect CNA eligibility?

Certain serious offenses under Arkansas law permanently disqualify CNA employment and enrollment at PAL CNA Training Academy, including:

  • Capital murder
  • Murder in the first or second degree
  • Kidnapping
  • Sexual assault in the first or second degree
  • Endangering the welfare of an incompetent person in the first degree
  • Felony abuse of an endangered or impaired person
  • Arson

This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure about your eligibility, contact Headmaster before enrolling. Failure to do so may result in removal from class and forfeiture of non-refundable fees.

When is tuition due?

Tuition and class fees are due at enrollment or according to an approved payment plan. If a payment does not clear, you may not continue the program until you arrange make-up coursework with the program director.
