PCA Program (Online)
Program Description
Personal care is a service offered to Arkansas clients who are in need of long-term care services but wish to stay in the comfort of their own home. Personal care includes hands-on assistance with activities such as basic hygiene, bathing, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, laundry services, and housekeeping. The PCA program is a two-week course that prepares students for these responsibilities. Clinical training is conducted in person for one day with the instructor, and the certification exam, included in the course price, is taken at the school during the clinical session. Students who complete the PCA program are eligible to work at home care agencies as well as assisted living facilities. This program is also excellent for those who are caring for family members in poor health or in need of care assistance.
